About Us

Who We Are

The Missouri Canoe & Floaters Association (MCFA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting safe, enjoyable, and responsible use of Missouri’s rivers and streams. Since our founding, we’ve been a united voice for canoe and float outfitters, vendors, and river lovers who care deeply about the health of our waterways and the future of outdoor recreation in Missouri.

What We Do

We advocate for the rights of paddlers and outfitters, support conservation efforts, and work to ensure that Missouri’s rivers remain clean, accessible, and open to the public. Our members include outfitters, gear vendors, local businesses, and individuals who all share a common goal: protecting the natural beauty and economic value of Missouri’s floating industry.
From water access issues to public safety, we partner with government agencies, conservation groups, and tourism organizations to represent the interests of those who live, work, and play on the river.

Our Mission

To protect and promote Missouri’s rivers, support the outfitting and paddling industry, and encourage responsible enjoyment of our state’s waterways.

Our Values

  • Stewardship: We believe in protecting the natural beauty and ecological health of Missouri’s rivers.
  • Advocacy: We work to ensure that river access, safety, and regulation support both recreation and local businesses.
  • Community: We foster connections among outfitters, vendors, paddlers, and conservation partners.
  • Education: We promote river safety, environmental awareness, and best practices for floating.
